Schoolboy Trae Coyle will train full-time with Arsenal’s U18 squad at the club’s London Colney training ground this season.

The prospect, who usually operates as a central midfielder, isn’t eligible to sign scholarship terms until next summer, but he will gain valuable experience of training at the first-team facility.

Coyle is yet to make his debut for the U18s, but the fact that he will be training at London Colney suggests he will have a prominent part to play for Kwame Ampadu’s side during 2016/17.

An England youth international, Coyle delivered some impressive performances as Arsenal won the Future Cup last season.

Arsenal officially welcomed their ten new scholars yesterday, with Reiss Nelson, Joao Virginia, Emile Smith-Rowe, Toby Omole, Dominic Thompson, Joseph Olowu, Josh Benson, Robbie Burton and Nathan Tormey all putting pen to paper on new contracts.

Nelson, such is his potential, is already training with the U21 squad, but the others are set to form the bulk of the U18 side, where they will be joined by second-year scholars Nathan Tella, Joe Willock and Charlie Gilmour.
