A talented centre-back who has been capped by Tunisia at senior level, Rekik had two contrasting loan spells last season.
Rekik started the campaign at Sparta Rotterdam but played just twenty minutes of action before being recalled. He was then sent out on loan to Wigan Athletic and featured much more prominently as he made eleven appearances.
The defender, who joined from Hertha Berlin in January 2021, could be loaned out again this season.
A player who is strong physically and possesses impressive technical ability, Rekik featured for the Arsenal first-team in pre-season in 2021.
