Defender Zak Swanson has been named in a first-team matchday squad for the first time.
The versatile youngster, who mainly plays as a right-back, is on the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers tonight.
Swanson, 21, has frequently impressed for Arsenal at U23 level and has shown that he is capable of playing at centre-back, left wing-back in midfield or as a winger.
A hard-working player with good leadership qualities, he is an effective reader of the game.
Swanson joined Arsenal’s academy in 2006 and had a loan spell at MVV Maastricht last season, which didn’t go entirely to plan. He was previously on the bench for the first-team for a friendly against Brentford in 2020.
Omari Hutchinson is also on the bench tonight.
