Arsenal youngster Levi Laing faces the Gunners while on trial at West Ham

Arsenal youngster Levi Laing is on trial at West Ham United.

Intriguingly, the 17-year-old was in action for West Ham’s U18 side against Arsenal at London Colney today as he was deployed at centre-back.

England youth international Laing previously played for West Ham against Aston Villa at U18 level.

The versatile Hale End product, who can play in most positions in defence or midfield, has been informed by Arsenal that he is unlikely to be offered a professional contract when his scholarship contract expires at the end of this season.

Laing has made nine appearances for Arsenal U18s this season, while he also featured for the U23s against Manchester City. In total he has played 14 times for the U18s having made his debut as an U15 player against Chelsea in 2018.
