Exclusive: Arsenal to release goalkeeper Noah Cooper this summer after deciding against professional contract

Arsenal have informed goalkeeper Noah Cooper that he will be released at the end of the season after the club decided not to offer him a professional contract.

Cooper was a key player for Arsenal U18s last season and played every game as they reached the final of the FA Youth Cup.

The shot-stopper, who joined the Gunners from Crystal Palace as a schoolboy, also started both games in the Youth Cup this season, including the 7-1 defeat to Liverpool.

Last season Cooper broke into Arsenal’s U21 squad and made his Premier League 2 debut away to Everton, while he was also named on the bench on many occasions at that level.

In addition, Cooper was a substitute for each of Arsenal’s games in the UEFA Youth League this season, with Alexei Rojas featuring in that competition.

Since signing scholarship terms in 2022, Cooper has played 26 times for the U18s.
