Arsenal have submitted their Premier League squad for the first half of the season, with the headline news the exclusion of Santi Cazorla.

Cazorla, who is still recovering from a long-term injury, now won’t be eligible to play in the Premier League until January, with Arsenal electing to include U23 goalkeeper Deyan Iliev (who now counts as a senior player) in the squad instead.

Another U23 goalkeeper, Matt Macey, makes the cut.

With the exception of Cazorla, all of Arsenal’s other first-team players who aren’t on loan are included in the squad.

Alex Iwobi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Jeff Reine-Adelaide are all on the U21 list despite being part of the first-team squad.

Meanwhile, as far as youngsters are concerned, the hugely talented first-year scholar Trae Coyle isn’t included.

  1. Why wasn’t Trae Coyle added to the list? He’s not another one of our young players that want to jump ship?
