Ryo returns from injury as Arsenal prepare for Napoli double-header

Ryo Miyaichi returned from injury to play a full part in the first-team’s final training session before Arsene Wenger’s side head to Italy today.

The Japanese winger, who has made five appearances for the first-team this season, is not expected to be involved in the final Champions League group stage game against Napoli, but could feature for the U21s next week against Leicester City and Manchester United.

Serge Gnabry will not feature for the U19s as he is on standby for the first-team, whilst Isaac Hayden is suspended after being sent off against Marseille last time out.

Julio Pleguezuelo is still out injured, but Jamaal Raage could make the bench for just the second time in this competition.

  1. Hi george. Keep up the good work in giving us insight into the youth setup. Would you believe that someone all the way from Sri Lanka is reads every single article you post. hehe…
Personally it gives me great satisfaction to see our OWN players make it into the 1st team and at present there are some outstanding fellas that could make that jump. The likes of zelalem, gnabry, bellerin and crowley will definitely be permanent fixtures in the side for years to come.
We seem to be producing cracking fullbacks and midfielders though the same cannot be said of strikers and centre backs. Maybe the scouting in those departments is not up to the mark. I really hope akpom, afobe and ignasi miguel make it…. Heard that we are trying to sign tony sanabria from barca. Any inside info regarding this ?

  2. Probably the best for Ryo is to go on loan on January to regain confidence.
He won’t have any game time at Arsenal since the midfield is well-covered.
