A tall centre-back, Awe received his first senior callup last season as he was named on the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.
Composed in possession, Awe struggled with injuries at times last season but produced some encouraging performances when fit, most notably against Chelsea in the Papa John’s Trophy.
The Hale End product was also involved with the first-team in the pre-season friendly against Ipswich Town.
Awe, who relishes bringing the ball out from the back, will hope for further senior involvement this season.
