The midfielder, who was previously at Lincoln, featured prominently for Arsenal U23s during his first season at the club as he made 22 appearances.
A player who is effective at regaining possession, he appears to be a level below some of his team-mates technically.
Akinola could go on loan in the second half of the season as he looks to prove himself in senior football.
