53. Julio Pleguezuelo

Stylish Spanish centre-back Julio endured a frustrating 2014/15 campaign as injuries limited his chances, but he still demonstrated some of the qualities that have seen him earmarked as a potential talent for the future.

A product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy who joined Arsenal in 2013, Julio featured prominently for the Gunners at U21 level during his first season in North London and went on to represent the first-team in a friendly against Boreham Wood.

Small for a centre-back but extremely comfortable in possession, Julio missed much of last season through injury but returned to the fold late in the season and scored his first goal for the U21s against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Also capable of playing at right-back but far more accomplished at the heart of the defence, Julio will be seeking to remain injury free during 2015/16 campaign and is expected to be heavily involved for the U21s .

The Spanish youth international will also be hopeful of earning a place in the Capital One Cup squad.
