68. Chris Willock

A hugely promising youngster who is a product of the club’s Hale End academy, Chris continued to develop well last season as he featured heavily for the U18s and was also involved in the UEFA Youth League.

Skilful and an intelligent passer, Chris is usually deployed on the left wing but can also be used centrally. He also featured twice for the U21s and will be hoping to play more regularly at that level this season.

A measure of Chris’ vast potential is the fact that he was selected, at the age of 17, to travel with the first-team squad for their pre-season trip to Asia, during which he featured in the victory over a Singapore Select XI. The previous summer he was involved in a friendly against Boreham Wood just weeks after signing scholarship terms with the club.

Chris, whose younger brother Joe is also part of the academy, is somewhat slight in stature but possesses excellent awareness of space. He will hope to develop further this season and could play a major part in the UEFA Youth League.

An England youth international, he represented his country at the U17 European Championships in summer 2015.
