A diminutive midfielder with impressive technical ability, Cottrell endured further frustration on the injury front as he missed the majority of last season.
Cottrell was restricted to just two league appearances for the U23s, although he was able to find the net against Derby County.
In 2020 the Hale End product made his debut for the Arsenal first-team as a substitute against Dundalk in the Europa League.
Prior that that he was a key part of the U18 side that won the southern section title in the 2019/20 campaign.
This season Cottrell will hope to stay fit as he looks to go on loan for the first time.
