39. Héctor Bellerín

Attack-minded right-back Hector made huge strides in his development last season as he sampled the professional game for the first time.

Having previously been named on the bench in the Capital One Cup, he made his Arsenal first-team debut in that competition as a substitute against West Bromwich Albion.

Although he still featured regularly for the Arsenal youth teams, Hector also spent part of the season on loan in the Championship with Watford, where he impressed in his eight league outings. The Spanish U19 international returned to Arsenal and was named in the bench in the Premier League before proceeding to enjoy a hugely successful pre-season ahead of the new campaign.

Previously with Barcelona, where he tended to operate as a right-winger, Hector could well be installed as Arsenal’s second-choice right-back this season. He is quick and adept at delivering accurate crosses and has also improved defensively in recent years.

Wouldn’t be suprised if he gets game time with the first team this year. A really top talent who will push Jenkinson hard in the future.

I would hold off on judging this guy – he has a lot more to put together technically as a defender. And even if Wenger decides to put him back up front as a winger/wide forward big question mark about whether he will develop the necessary strength to match his technique. Much like Arturo Lupoli in that respect.

Probably the most obvious youth player to become a first team regular.
