Charles Sagoe Jr and Mauro Bandeira are set to become the latest youngsters to sign professional terms with Arsenal.
The pair were both involved in the U21s training session at London Colney today and will hope to be heavily involved at that level after stepping up from the U18s.
Sagoe Jr (pictured), who doesn’t turn 18 until next month, was one of the standout performers for the U18s last season as he impressed with his flair and directness. He is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, out wide or up front.
Bandeira, meanwhile, is an all-action midfielder who is effective at both breaking up play and pushing forward. He is eligible to play for Portugal or England at youth level.
Both players were involved with the first-team in a friendly against Brentford B last season.
There remains uncertainty over the other three second year scholars from last season – Henry Jeffcott, James Sweet and Billy Vigar, all of whom were offered professional deals but weren’t pictured in training today. It is possible that the trio could still sign but there hasn’t yet been any confirmation.
