Six players from Arsenal’s U23 squad trained with the first-team today ahead of tomorrow’s game at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Zak Swanson, Miguel Azeez, Mazeed Ogugnbo, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Charlie Patino and Omari Hutchinson were all called upon for the session at London Colney.
Nicolas Pepe is available after illness, but with Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey all out, at least three academy players will be on the bench tomorrow.
Swanson and Ogungbo are likely to be called upon as defensive options and there is a good chance that either Patino or Azeez will be named among the substitutes to provide midfield cover in the absence of Partey.
