Loan report – Osei-Tutu scores as Rotherham win Papa John’s Trophy; Clarke and Balogun on target

Jordi Osei-Tutu played a significant part as Rotherham United beat Sutton United 4-2 after extra-time to win the Papa John’s Trophy.

Rotherham were trailing 2-1 but Osei-Tutu came off the bench in the 80th minute and scored a dramatic late equaliser in the sixth minute of stoppage time. Rotherham proceeded to score twice in extra-time, with Osei-Tutu winning the first trophy of his senior career.

Harry Clarke was deployed as a left wing-back on his Hibernian debut and scored with an impressive strike in a 1-1 draw with Dundee United, for whom Tim Akinola was unavailable due to injury.

Folarin Balogun scored and played 69 minutes as Middlesbrough won 4-0 against Peterborough United.

Daniel Ballard played the whole game as Millwall drew 2-2 with Luton Town.

Matt Smith played the full game as Doncaster Rovers lost 2-0 to Wycombe Wanderers.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy played 90 minutes as Lincoln City beat Charlton Athletic 2-1.

Alex Runarsson was in action as OH-Leuven lost 1-0 to Antwerp.

Reiss Nelson started and played 81 minutes as Feyenoord won 2-0 against Willem II.

Hector Bellerin played the full game as Real Betis drew 0-0 with Celta Vigo.

Matteo Guendouzi got an assist as Marseille won 4-2 against Saint-Etienne. The midfielder played 86 minutes, with William Saliba completed the whole game.

Konstantinos Mavropanos played the entirety of Stuttgart’s 1-1 draw with Arminia Bielefeld.

Auston Trusty played 90 minutes as Colorado Rapids drew 1-1 with Real Salt Lake.

Jordan McEneff played 81 minutes as Shelbourne won 1-0 against Sligo Rovers.

Lucas Torreira played 71 minutes and was booked as Fiorentina won 1-0 against Empoli.

Pablo Mari missed Udinese’s 5-1 win against Cagliari due to suspension.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles was an unused substitute as Roma beat Sampdoria 1-0.

Nikolaj Moller missed Den Bosch’s 2-1 win against Telstar because of injury.

Ryan Alebiosu missed out through injury as Crewe Alexandra lost 3-1 to Fleetwood Town.

Injury meant that Karl Hein didn’t feature in Reading’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley.

Tyreece John-Jules is still injured and missed Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-1 win against AFC Wimbledon.
