Khayon Edwards scored from the penalty spot as Arsenal U18s drew 1- 1 at home to Leicester City today.

Recent signing Lino Sousa was given his first start, but Mauro Bandeira and Henry Jeffcott were unavailable. Taylor Foran started after travelling to Dubai with the first-team.

Subs: Quesada-Thorn (for Sousa, 66), Gaspar (for Sagoe Jr, 72). Not used: Kovacevic, Roberts, Gower.

Sousa was deployed further forward than perhaps may have been anticipated and he had an effort saved in the 13th minute.

However, it was Leicester who took the lead, with Christopher Popov scoring.

Arsenal levelled just after the break as Sousa was fouled in the area and the prolific Edwards stepped up to score the spot-kick.

As the half went on Arsenal introduced Elian Quesada-Thorn and then Luigi Gaspar but they weren’t able to get a winner.

Arsenal have been rather inconsistent at this level so far this season, which is reflected in them being in sixth place in the table.
