Salah-Eddine and Omar Rekik train with Arsenal first-team ahead of Leeds United clash

Two of Arsenal’s standout prospects from the U23 squad were involved in first-team training today, with Salah-Eddine and Omar Rekik linking up with Mikel Arteta’s squad.

While the pair are unlikely to be involved against Leeds United tomorrow, they are under consideration to make the squad for next week’s Carabao Cup game against Sunderland.

Midfielder Salah-Eddine has impressed for the U23s this season and was on the bench against Leeds in the Carabao Cup earlier this campaign.

Meanwhile, centre-back Rekik, who is already a senior Tunisia international, has relished pushing forward into midfield at times during games for the U23s.

  1. Could be a few interesting selections for the Sunderland tie, I’d expect quite a few squad players in the starting XI with the Christmas programme upon us but maybe room for a couple or three of our standout youngsters perhaps, Balogun etc?
