Arsenal U18s striker Khayon Edwards is the subject of interest from a host of clubs including RB Leipzig and Chelsea.
It was recently revealed that Edwards has yet to accept the professional contract that Arsenal offered him several months ago.
In addition to Leipzig, there is further interest in Edwards from Germany, with Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach also tracking him.
Meanwhile, in England Newcastle are keeping tabs on the 18-year-old and there are also Dutch clubs such as Feyenoord who are considering a move.
Edwards’ scholarship deal expires at the end of June, with a decision on his future set to be made some time before then.
So far this season Edwards has scored 14 goals, with 13 of them coming for the U18s and the other having been for the U23s against West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League Cup. However, he hasn’t featured prominently for the U23s as there are many strikers at the club.
Edwards progressed through the ranks at Arsenal’s Hale End academy before signing scholarship terms in 2020.
Well if Edwards hasn’t signed a professional contract – one that’s been on the table for months – then why play him in the U23’s, I’d rather see those opportunities going to players who have committed to Arsenal?!
