U23s midfielder Charlie Patino was involved in training with the Arsenal first-team squad today.

The 17-year-old, who is likely to play for the U23s against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow, is edging closer to his senior debut.

Another talented youngster, right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy, was also selected to train with the first-team. Winger Kido Taylor-Hart also participated in the session.

Pablo Mari and Albert Sambi Lokonga, who were unused substitutes in the 6-0 Carabao Cup victory against West Bromwich Albion, were both involved, along with Gabriel Martinelli, who came on for the final 14 minutes. Goalkeeper Alex Runarsson is back in training after previously having coronavirus.

Other first-team players who took part in the session included: Folarin Balogun, Reiss Nelson, Kieran Tierney, Hector Bellerin, Cedric and Gabriel.

Willian wasn’t involved, while Thomas Partey and Eddie Nketiah remain injured and Ben White has coronavirus.

The players who started against West Brom, along with Emile Smith Rowe, weren’t involved.

  1. Seen Patino’s highlights against Palace, what a talent, reminds me of Frenkie De Jong

Do you think he’ll become a first team regular? Or will he need a loan first?

      1. He seems very left footed, what’s he like with his right? Do you think he’s the most likely to go into the first team like Saka + Smith Rowe, Or are there any others?

      2. He’s quite good with his right foot too. He’s one of the players that has a good chance. Azeez and Hutchinson are among the others.
