Marcelo Flores and Tyreece John-Jules return to training

Two of Arsenal’s standout youngsters have received a boost on the fitness front as they returned to training.

Marcelo Flores hasn’t played for Arsenal U18s since December but the creative midfielder, who can also play out wide, is closing in on a return to action. Flores will hope to receive a call up to the U23 squad before the conclusion of the campaign.

Meanwhile, forward Tyreece John-Jules is also back on the training pitch at London Colney. The 20-year-old has been working his way back towards full fitness after suffering a hamstring injury while on loan at Doncaster Rovers.

John-Jules, who is now participating in ball work, will aim to be back in action for Doncaster soon. So far he has scored three goals in 14 appearances for his loan side.

Midfielder Luigi Gaspar, who hasn’t featured for the U18s this season due to injury, has also started training again.

The U23s were also in training today as they prepared for Friday’s game against Leicester City, with Folarin Balogun amongst those in attendance.
