Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard is the subject of interest from clubs in the Championship ahead of a possible loan move next season.
The centre-back has caught the eye in League One with Blackpool this campaign, and scored in the 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra last night.
This season Ballard has made 13 appearances for Blackpool having endured more fortune on the injury front after his spell at Swindon Town in League Two last season was ended early due to injury.
A temporary switch to a Championship club appears the natural next step for the 21-year-old, who possesses impressive leadership qualities. Arsenal have been monitoring Ballard’s progress closely this season and are pleased with his development.
Ballard, who has been capped five times by Northern Ireland at senior level, is set to be called up again by his country for the next set of international fixtures later this month.
Would love Ballard and McGuiness to be signed as a pairing for a championship team next season. Heard from friends that Harry Clarke has been awesome at right back for Oldham, would be great to see him given a chance in pre-season
