U18 Premier League
Arsenal 0 West Bromwich Albion 3 (Faal 18, Richards 45, Shepherd 84)
Arsenal U18s suffered a disappointing defeat today as they were beaten 3-0 at home by their West Bromwich Albion counterparts.
Coach Ken Gillard was without Zane Monlouis, who is with the U23s today, but was able to call upon Daniel Oyegoke, who possesses plenty of experience at this level.
There was also a start at left-back for Henry Jeffcott, with Mazeed Ogungbo moving forward to play on the left wing. Khayon Edwards, meanwhile, was deployed up front, with Nathan Butler-Oyedeji reverting to the right wing and Omari Hutchinson playing as the number ten.
West Brom opened the scoring in the 18th minute, with Mo Faal finding the net, and it was 2-0 before the break as Rico Richards scored.
Arsenal made changes as the second half wore on, with Taylor Foran and Billy Vigar entering the fray, but West Brom added another goal late on as Jacob Shepherd scored, with Tom Fellows getting his third assist of the game.
It was a frustrating result for Arsenal, who have now lost three of their last four games, with Charlie Patino, who has stepped up to the U23s, having been sorely missed in midfield.
