Loan report – Willock scores; Maitland-Niles and Medley make debuts

Joe Willock made a dream start to his loan spell at Newcastle United as he scored after 16 minutes in his temporary side’s 3-2 victory against Southampton. Willock played the whole game.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles made his West Bromwich Albion debut, playing 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. The Arsenal academy product was deployed as a central midfielder.

Zech Medley made his Kilmarnock debut, with the defender playing the whole of his side’s 2-0 loss to St. Mirren.

William Saliba played the entirety of Nice’s 3-0 win against Angers. The centre-back was recently named Nice’s player of the month for January.

Mark McGuinness played the whole game as Ipswich Town beat Blackpool 2-0. Daniel Ballard wasn’t involved for the visitors.

Harry Clarke played the full match and was booked as Oldham Athletic won 2-1 against Salford City.

Sead Kolasinac played the full game and was booked as Schalke lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig.

Konstantinos Mavropanos played 90 minutes as Stuttgart were beaten 5-2 by Bayer Leverkusen.

Matt Smith was an unused substitute as Charlton Athletic beat Rochdale 2-0.

Lucas Torreira‘s Atletico Madrid host Celta Vigo tomorrow night.

Ben Sheaf missed Coventry City’s goalless draw with Watford because of injury.

Tyreece John-Jules missed out through injury as Doncaster Rovers beat Oxford United 3-2.

Injury meant that James Olayinka didn’t feature as Southend United were beaten 5-1 by Port Vale.

Jordi Osei-Tutu was also absent due to injury as Cardiff City won 2-0 against Bristol City.

Joseph Olowu wasn’t involved as Wealdstone lost 4-1 to Darlington.
