Alex Runarsson left out of Arsenal’s Europa League squad as Gabriel Martinelli is added

Arsenal have submitted their updated squad for the Europa League knockout stages, with goalkeeper Alex Runarsson being removed.

Gabriel Martinelli, who was left out of the squad for the group stages due to injury, has been added.

Loan signings Martin Odegaard and Mat Ryan have been included in the squad.

Arsenal only named four homegrown players – Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding, Calum Chambers and James Hillson. Therefore the overall size of their senior list was reduced from 25 to 21.

U23 goalkeeper Hillson has been included on the senior list. One of Arthur Okonkwo, Hillson or Karl Hein will be amongst the two goalkeepers on the bench for Arsenal’s remaining games in the competition this season.

Deyan Iliev, who recently returned from a loan spell at Shrewsbury Town, has been left out of the squad as only three additions were allowed to be made to the senior list.

Nikolaj Moller, George Lewis, Tim Akinola, Omar Rekik, Catalin Cirjan, Salah-Eddine, Marcelo Flores and Joel Ideho can’t be included on the B-list as they haven’t been at the club for two years.

Arsenal’s B-list for U21 players has yet to officially be published.

Arsenal’s Europa League A-list:
