Rekik amongst twelve youngsters to train with Arsenal first-team ahead of Newcastle clash

New signing Omar Rekik trained with the first-team today ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup third round tie at home to Newcastle United.

Strikers Folarin Balogun and Nikolaj Moller were also involved in the session at London Colney along with defender Jonathan Dinzeyi and winger Kido Taylor-Hart.

Miguel Azeez, Ben Cottrell, Tim Akinola, Joseph Olowu, Alex Kirk and Ryan Alebiosu also took part.

Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo also trained with the squad. He will be aiming to become Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper following the departure of Matt Macey.

For FA Cup games this season teams are allowed to name nine substitutes, five of which can be used.

Gabriel has returned to full training after illness. Thomas Partey has also been training with the squad as he closes in on his return to action.


  1. Don’t sell Folani, please next team will be builded by Tierney, Saka, Sixth Rowe Martineli, Folani, Azeez, Nikolaj, Gabrielle Maghalles.

      1. Butcher is an understatement,if there’s any word worst than that it should be used.Lol.

  2. Would be nice to see a couple of our youngsters on the bench, Azeez in particular who could well save us a tidy packet in transfer fees, wages and agent fees.
