Zak Swanson will return to Arsenal on Wednesday after his loan spell at MVV Maastricht was cut short.
The right-back was set to spend the whole season with the Dutch side but has been recalled after a frustrating spell during which he only featured three times.
Swanson has also been suffering with homesickness and is set to be part of the Arsenal U23 squad until January, when he could be sent on loan to an English club.
Last season Swanson was hugely impressive for Arsenal at U23 level and also frequently trained with the first-team.
