Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein makes senior debut for Estonia

Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein made his senior international debut for Estonia last night aged just 18.

Hein, who was the first-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal U23s last season, had previously played for his country at U17, U19 and U21 levels.

The youngster was given a starting berth for the Nations League clash at home to Georgia and played the entirety of a 1-0 defeat. He will hope to keep his place in the starting line up when Estonia face Armenia away on Wednesday.

Hein became the second member of Arsenal’s U23 squad to make his international debut in as many days after Daniel Ballard featured for Northern Ireland against Romania.

Deyan Iliev, meanwhile, was an unused substitute as North Macedonia beat Armenia 2-1.
