Arsenal youngster Joseph Olowu will stay on loan at Cork City for the remainder of the Irish league season.
The centre-back made five appearances for Cork prior to the season being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As reported by Echo Sport, with the season set to get back underway, Olowu will get the opportunity to gain further experience with Cork in a campaign that could run into October.
The U23 season in England isn’t likely to start until September, so it makes more sense for Olowu to remain with Cork.
It will be difficult for Olowu to succeed at Arsenal in the long term, with the likes of Zech Medley, Harry Clarke and Daniel Ballard on the fringes of the first-team squad.
However, the game time he has received at Cork could be hugely beneficial for his future career.
