Another Arsenal loanee was in action today, with Deyan Iliev keeping a clean sheet as Jagiellonia Bialystok won 1-0 away to Cracovia Krakow.
Iliev had little to do in the early stages of the game, but in the 20th minute he raced off his line to make an important intervention.
Soon afterwards the 25-year-old spilled a shot but the flag was raised for offside as Krakow threatened to take the lead.
In the closing stages of the first half, Iliev endured a difficult moment as he failed to hold the ball but the danger was soon averted.
Early in the second half Krakow had the ball in the net, but Pelle Van Amersfoort’s effort was ruled out for offside.
Iliev then rushed out to clear the danger again and then made an excellent save to keep the game goalless. He made another superb stop late on.
Substitute Przemyslaw Mystkowski scored shortly after his introduction to make it 1-0 to Jagiellonia in the closing stages.
