U18 Premier League
Leicester City 1 Arsenal 0
Arsenal U18s returned to action on Saturday but suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Leicester City as their inconsistent start to the season continued.
James Hillson featured in goal as an overage player, with 14 year old Alex Kovacevic being named on the bench.
Kovacevic was called upon because Karl Hein and Remy Mitchell were with the U23s, Tom Smith is out on loan, Arthur Okonkwo and Ovie Ejeheri are injured, Pedro Virginia is away with Portugal U16s and Hubert Graczyk was also unavailable.
Ryan Alebiosu and Mazeed Ogungbo returned in defence, with Sam Greenwood also back in the side, while Daniel Oyegoke started in midfield after a lengthy spell out injured.
Sidnei Tavares scored what proved to be the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute as Leicester prevailed, despite Arsenal bringing on Alfie Matthews, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji and Luke Plange in the second half.
Arsenal, who have four points from five games, host Brighton & Hove Albion next weekend.
Arsenal: Hillson; Alebiosu, Kirk, Ogungbo, Lopez; Oyegoke (Matthews, 46) Azeez; Dennis (Butler-Oyedeji, 59), Cirjan, Taylor-Hart (Plange 78); Greenwood. Subs not used: Kovacecic, Monlouis.
