Stephy Mavididi is set to become the latest youngster to leave Arsenal, with the striker closing in on a move to Juventus.
According to Sky Sports, Mavididi is set to undergo a medical and will initially play for Juventus’ B team.
The 20-year-old is poised to leave Arsenal without having made a first-team appearance for the club, although he did previously make the bench for the senior side under Arsene Wenger.
A powerful forward who is also capable of playing out wide if required, Mavididi made a major impact for Arsenal at youth level and has had loan spells at Charlton Ahtletic and Preston North End.
Mavididi scored for Arsenal U23s against Manchester City last weekend, but it seems as if that will prove to be his final game for the club and, in truth, it isn’t a major surprise that he is leaving, with Eddie Nketiah ahead of him in the pecking order.
If Mavididi does indeed depart then it will provide some of the club’s younger strikers, such as Tyreece John-Jules and Folarin Balogun, the chance to impress at U23 level.
