Arsenal starlet Emile Smith Rowe out for six to eight weeks after tearing ankle ligaments

Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe is expected to miss the majority of the rest of the youth season after being ruled out for six to eight weeks with torn ankle ligaments.

The 17-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season that has seen him establish himself as an important member of Arsenal’s U23 side, while he has also been hugely impressive in the FA Youth Cup and has trained with the first-team.

Smith Rowe, who can play as a winger or a central midfielder, will miss some crucial games as Arsenal U23s look to win the Premier League 2 title, while he will also be absent for both legs of the FA Youth Cup semi-final against Blackpool.

  1. Pity, for it looks like Arsenal could win the youth trophies up for grabs, and he seems an integral part of the team. Bounce back stronger mate.
