Arsenal have submitted their updated Champions League squad for the knockout stages of the competition, with Danny Welbeck and Per Mertesacker included, while Carl Jenkinson has been left out.

Welbeck and Mertesacker were omitted from Arsenal’s squad for the group stages because of injury but have now been reinstated, replacing Jenkinson and Krystian Bielik, with the latter having joined Birmingham City on loan.

Mathieu Debuchy and Yaya Sanogo are in the squad, as is Santi Cazorla, who is still recovering from injury.

January signing Cohen Bramall isn’t named as he isn’t eligible for the B-List and there isn’t sufficient space on the A-List.

With regards to youngsters, the hugely talented Reiss Nelson is included on the B-List for the first time, as is prolific striker Eddie Nketiah, while goalkeeper Ryan Huddart is also named after returning from his loan spell at Eastleigh. Glen Kamara, who failed to see a loan move to Twente come to fruition, isn’t included.

Vlad Dragomir, Alex Crean, Yassin Fortune, Donyell Malen and Jordi Osei-Tutu aren’t yet eligible for inclusion on the B-List. All players on loan have been left out.

  1. Thanks for this heads up, Jeorge.

I counted 24 players in the A-List, with Iwobi, Bellerin and Adelaide, of the First Team players, indicated as being part of the B-List. Why can’t Jenkinson be part of the A-List as he is still a player with the Arsenal?

All the other players mentioned after Elneny are indeed the Reserves, being Under-21 and has been with the Arsenal at least the last 2 years.

    1. Jeff is on the A-list as he doesn’t qualify for the B-list because he hasn’t been at Arsenal for 2 full years yet. The rule for the B-list states:

A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1994 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA.

So we have 25 players on our A-list: – 3 GKs: Ospina, Cech, Martinez
8 defenders: Debuchy, Gibbs, Monreal, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Mustafi, Koscielny, Holding (Bellerin on the B-list)
8 midfielders: Elneny, Coquelin, Xhaka, Cazorla, Oxlade, Ramsey, Özil & Jeff Reine-Adélaïde
6 forwards: Alexis, Lucas, Giroud, Walcott, Welbeck, Sanogo
