Ben Howes scored to pull Reading level before the break but the visitors’ hopes of taking something from the game were lessened when Ademola Shokunbi was sent off in the 66th minute.
Arsenal took full advantage as they went on to win the game. Firstly Donyell Malen scored a fine goal having been set up by Tolaji Bola and then substitute Trae Coyle celebrated being offered a scholarship deal by adding gloss to the scoreline after good work from Josh DaSilva.
