Report- Nketiah scores again as Arsenal U18s beat Reading

Eddie Nketiah was on the scoresheet again as Arsenal U18s beat Reading 3-1 at London Colney this morning.

The prolific forward has now hit eleven goals in as many games at U18 level this season and opened the scoring on this occasion in the 20th minute after being located by Yassin Fortune.

Arsenal had been forced into a substitution just prior to taking the lead, with the injured Marcus McGuane being replaced by Charlie Gilmour.

Ben Howes scored to pull Reading level before the break but the visitors’ hopes of taking something from the game were lessened when Ademola Shokunbi was sent off in the 66th minute.

Arsenal took full advantage as they went on to win the game. Firstly Donyell Malen scored a fine goal having been set up by Tolaji Bola and then substitute Trae Coyle celebrated being offered a scholarship deal by adding gloss to the scoreline after good work from Josh DaSilva.

Arsenal: Virginia; Osei-Tutu, Olowu, Pileas, T. Bola; McGuane, DaSilva; Fortune, Dragomir, Malen; Nketiah.

Subs: Gilmour (for McGuane, 19), Coyle (for Dragomir, 55), J. Willock (for Fortune, 81). Not used: Crean, Medley.
