Arsenal’s Glen Kamara on trial at FC Twente ahead of possible loan move

Arsenal midfielder Glen Kamara is on trial at FC Twente as he seeks to earn a loan move to the Dutch club, as reported by Tubantia.

The 21-year-old recently returned to Arsenal after having his frustrating loan spell with Colchester United cut short.

Kamara, who previously spent time on temporary transfer at Southend United, failed a trial for a loan move at Dutch side Dordrecht last summer.

The youngster has made one appearance for the Arsenal first-team, which came in the League Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last season.

Due to the influence of the club’s academy manager Andries Jonker several Arsenal youngsters are on loan in the Netherlands – Kelechi Nwakali is thriving at Maastricht, where he is joined by Stefan O’Connor. Meanwhile, Dan Crowley is with Go Ahead Eagles and Tafari Moore is spending the season at Utrecht.

  1. Interesting to see if Jonker can get some players closer to the first team to the right loan clubs in the Eredivisie. Would be a chance for the likes of Akpom or Willock to get first team experience in an attack friendly league.
