Non-league trialist Cohen Bramall trains with Arsenal first-team

Trialist Cohen Bramall trained with the Arsenal first-team squad at London Colney yesterday.

The 20-year-old left-back, who currently plays for Hednesford Town, has recently been on trial with Sheffield Wednesday.

A fast and skillful player, Bramall has previously represented Nantwitch Town, Kidsgrove Athletic, Newcastle Town and Market Drayton Town.

Meanwhile, three members of the U23 squad trained with the first-team today, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Ben Sheaf and Chris Willock all in attendance.

  1. This is a deal that I don’t understand. No disrespect, but he has had trials at lower league clubs and none of them were impressed enough to offer him a contract. If AFC hires him for the reserve team, then this is damned indictment of the quality of our defensive U23 team.
A non-league player is better than the Arsenal U23 left back!
I might be completely wrong and he may be a hidden gem. In which case it would a indictment of the scouting system of lower league clubs.
I suspect, he is hired to fill our U23 reserve team just before it gets depleted. Once the transfer period opens most of the team will be sent on loan. If that is the case, then hopefully he could benefit from his short time at Arsenal to get better offer from League clubs.
