Arsenal U18s prevailed past their Norwich City counterparts with a 1-0 victory at London Colney on Saturday, with the prolific Edward Nketiah scoring the only goal of the game.
Nketiah has been heavily involved for the U23s of late but he was excellent upon his return to U18 action, while midfielder Vlad Dragomir caught the eye with some slick passes.
Arsenal dominated proceedings and, in truth, Kwame Ampadu’s side really should have scored more goals, with Donyell Malen striking the crossbar and Nathan Tella squandering two inviting opportunities.
The young Gunners played some slick, free-flowing football, with Josh DaSilva breaking forwards from midfield at every opportunity, while Malen, stationed on the left flank, produced one of his best performances of the season so far.
There was one moment of concern when an overhit pass from Jordi Osei-Tutu caught out Joseph Olowu, but Arsenal were able to keep a clean sheet.
Next up is an away game against West Ham United on Saturday.
