Arsenal U18s returned to winning ways on Saturday with an emphatic 3-0 victory away to Brighton & Hove Albion, with Joe Willock opening the scoring before Donyell Malen scored a brace.
Coach Kwame Ampadu fielded a very strong side including the likes of Marcus McGuane, Reiss Nelson and Josh DaSilva.
Osei Tutu-Olowu-Ballard-T. Bola
Subs: Virginia, Benson, Beckford, Omole.
Arsenal, even without star striker Edward Nketiah, proved too strong for Brighton, with DaSilva and Robbie Burton dictating play in midfield.
The latter, who was brought into the starting line-up, played some fine passes and one such ball deflected into the path of Willock, who was alert to finish quickly to open the scoring.
Malen then made it 2-0 after he was located by DaSilva, and the talented Dutch forward doubled his tally with a superb acrobatic effort, with Willock the provider on this occasion.
Arsenal’s full-backs, Jordi Osei-Tutu and Tolaji Bola, got forwards at every possible opportunity, and overall this was a hugely encouraging display from the young Gunners, who remain unbeaten going into the international break.
