Trialist goalkeeper Jonkerman features as Arsenal progress in Durban International Cup 



Arsenal U19s reached the semi-finals of the Durban International Cup today as they prevailed past Golden Arrows with a 2-1 victory. 

The young Gunners took the lead through the prodigious Reiss Nelson before their opponents drew level when Kristopher Da Graca scored an own goal. 

However, Arsenal managed to secure victory courtesy of a strike from Savvas Mourgos and will now take their place in the semi-finals as they look to retain the trophy. 

Arsenal fielded trialist goalkeeper Thom Jonkerman, who is part of the Nike Academy. 

Arsenal: Jonkerman; Osei-Tutu, Da Graca, Pileas, T. Bola; McGuane, Sheaf; Nelson, Dragomir, DaSilva; Mavididi.

  1. Jeorge, the keeper, Thom Jonkerman was reported to have only joined the Nike Academy a month ago, from Dordtrecht, the club Arsenal loaned Glen Kamara to last week. Maybe he did not join Nike at all, and is here instead. By the way, was he the keeper who played v Bayern Munich for our U18’s a few weeks ago
