Arsenal held their final training session this morning prior to tomorrow’s FA Cup tie at home to Burnley.

Alex Iwobi was the only outfield member of the U21 squad to be involved and the Nigeria international will be hopeful of playing some part against the Championship side. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ryan Huddart also trained with the first-team and appears to have edged ahead of Matt Macey in the pecking order.

Danny Welbeck trained as he closes in on his return to action. The England international, who hasn’t played since April, is scheduled to play 45 minutes for Arsenal U21s against their Brighton & Hove Albion counterparts a week today.

Francis Coquelin and Tomas Rosicky also trained and could feature against Burnley, with midfielders Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla now the only senior players that are still injured.

Arsene Wenger is likely to rotate his side for tomorrow’s game, with Mohamed Elneny in line to make his debut, whilst David Ospina, Kieran Gibbs and Calum Chambers could also receive run-outs. Per Mertesacker is suspended following his red card against Chelsea.

Possible team

Subs: Cech, Bellerin, Monreal, Arteta, Rosicky, Ramsey, Campbell.

Arsenal U21s are also in action tomorrow as they travel to take on Stoke City.

Steve Gatting’s side could welcome back Jeff Reine-Adelaide, who is unlikely to feature for the first-team tomorrow with so many senior players available.

Krystian Bielik, Kaylen Hinds and Ben Sheaf are doubtful, whilst Deyan Iliev and Stefan O’Connor are still out.

Arsenal will be seeking to return to winning ways after being held to a goalless draw by Swansea City last time out.

Possible team

Bennacer-Mourgos

Reine Adelaide-Crowley-C. Willock
