Gedion Zelalem played 72 minutes and produced a clever piece of skill to set up Martyn Waghorn for a goal in Rangers’ 5-1 victory over Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup.

Carl Jenkinson played the full game and came close to scoring as West Ham United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0. Emiliano Martinez was back on the bench for the visitors after recovering from injury.

Isaac Hayden played the whole game and squandered an inviting opportunity to score as Hull City beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0. It now appears that the midfielder will be staying with Steve Bruce’s side for the remainder of the campaign. Chuba Akpom wasn’t involved.

Wellington played the entirety of Bolton Wanderers’ 1-1 draw with Eastleigh.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles started and played 58 minutes as Ipswich Town drew 2-2 with Portsmouth.

Jon Toral was introduced as a substitute in the 68th minute as Birmingham City lost 2-1 to Bournemouth.

Wojciech Szczesny played the whole game as Roma drew 1-1 with AC Milan.

Yaya Sanogo wasn’t involved as Ajax beat Hamburg 3-1 in a friendly.

Serge Gnabry was left out of the squad as West Bromwich Albion drew 2-2 with Bristol City.

  1. Zelalem has great ability but he needs to put on more muscle for me if he does that Arsenal can have one hell of a player.

  2. Arsenal loan players are performing well, on the whole. I am hoping the boss doesn’t bring in too many players in January because it would be good to see some of these lads get a run out next season.

Toral, Akpom, Hayden, Iwobi, Szczesny, Jenkinson, and Gnabry all seem like they might be on the cusp of working into the side. Rosicky and Arteta seem like they might not be with the team next year. Flamini too, might not be there. How much longer will Cazorla be a Gunner? Debuchy seems like he’ll be gone in the summer if not sooner, and I prefer Szczesny to Ospina. Ospina is a good keeper but his hands say he’ll never be great. Szczesny has what it takes to be great.

    In two years the matchday squad could look like this;

    Cech
    Gibbs, Hayden, Gabriel, Bellerin
    Elneny, Ramsay
    Sanchez, Ozil, Walcott
    Giroud

Szczesny, Koscielny, Jenkinson, Coquelin, Chamberlain, Toral, Campbell

    1. Don’t see it myself. Toral is likely to leave in the summer. Done okay at Birnmingham, but in and out of the team. Hayden and Akpom have not impressed at Hull. Gnabry hasn’t been involved at all. Jenkinson lost his place to James Tomkins!!!
Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been the most consistant performer and he doesn’t get a mention?

As for our potential team… are you serious????????? Playing Bellerin at left back and Gibbs at right back suggests you have been drinking! But the team as a whole is pretty ordinary.

  3. I hope Wellington is the new Coquelin next season!

From the match reports in Bolton’s website he seems to be doing quite well other when he has played.
