Jeff Reine-Adélaïde, back from his exploits with France at the U17 World Cup, was one of eight youngsters to train with the Arsenal first-team squad at London Colney this morning ahead of tomorrow’s trip to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The highly rated youngster is unlikely to be involved at the Allianz Arena, but Alex Iwobi, who made his Premier League debut against Swansea City last weekend, should make the bench, along with goalkeeper Matt Macey.
In addition, Glen Kamara, Julio Pleguezuelo, Chris Willock and Kaylen Hinds also trained with the squad. The latter trio are expected to feature when Arsenal take on Bayern in the UEFA Youth League tomorrow. Goalkeeper Ryan Huddart also joined in with the first-team training session.
Arsenal are without eight senior players due to injury, with Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta, David Ospina, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomáš Rosický all sidelined.
Subs: Macey, Debuchy, Chambers, Gabriel, Gibbs, Flamini, Iwobi.
Injured: Ospina, Iliev, Johnson, Rosický, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Welbeck.
Other eligible players: Huddart, Moore, O’Connor, Pleguezuelo, Kamara, Reine-Adélaïde, Robinson, C. Willock, Hinds, Mavididi.
As far as the U19s are concerned, Dan Crowley could make his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt this season after returning from his loan spell at Barnsley. A victory would effectively secure the young Gunners’ place in the knockout stages of the competition.
It remains to be seen whether Reine-Adelaide will feature, but Willock, Hinds and Stephy Mavididi, who all missed the home game against Bayern due to international commitments, should play. Chiori Johnson is still out injured.
Subs: Huddart, O’Connor, Chatzitheodoridis, Mourgos, Agyei-Tabi, Nelson, Malen.
Other eligible players: Perrin, Da Graca, T. Bola, Osei-Tutu, Pileas, Howard, Dragomir, Gilmour, Eyoma, Tella, Benson, Smith-Rowe, Reine-Adélaïde, Nketiah, Fortune, J. Willock.
