Youngsters Alex Iwobi, Chris Willock and Kaylen Hinds trained with the Arsenal first-team squad at London Colney this morning ahead of tomorrow’s game against Swansea City.
Willock and Hinds are just back from the U17 World Cup, where they represented England, whilst Iwobi, who made his senior Arsenal debut on Tuesday, is likely to be on the bench tomorrow given the first-team’s injury problems.
Young defender Julio Pleguezuelo, who was surprisingly left out of the squad to face Sheffield Wednesday, also trained along with midfielder Ben Sheaf, who made the bench at Hillsborough.
Eight senior players are currently out injured, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta, David Ospina, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky all currently sidelined.
Possible team:
Cech
Bellerin-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Monreal
Coquelin-Cazorla
Campbell-Ozil-Sanchez
Giroud
Subs: Macey, Debuchy, Gabriel, Chambers, Gibbs, Flamini, Iwobi.
Gab should start over Mert.. I would also give willock the nod over Debuchy because we have only 1 offensive player in the subs..
After pers horror show I think the rested Gabriel should play. Other than I think you have it spot on though I would like to see either willock hinds or mavididi be on the bench instead of Debuchy or chambers or even two of the 3 and leave out both of them. 4 defenders and flamini, is that totally necessary?
