Three Arsenal youngsters likely to make squad for Tottenham game

Arsenal face Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup 3rd Round tomorrow night, and, whilst manager Arsene Wenger is set to field a stronger side than he usually does in this competition, several youngsters are still in contention to feature at White Hart Lane.
Goalkeeper Matt Macey, for instance, is likely to be on the bench, as deputy to David Ospina, with first-choice shot-stopper Petr Cech poised to be rested.
Winger Alex Iwobi, meanwhile, is set to be included in the squad and will be hopeful of making his competitive debut for the first-team at some point during the evening.

With Francis Coquelin out injured, defensive-midfielder Glen Kamara, who has trained with the squad on several occasions recently, may make the bench as cover for Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini.

The rest of the squad is likely to be comprised of first-team players, with Per Mertesacker available again after illness, whilst Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey all trained today.

  1. Well done Chuba Akpom (90 mins) and Isaac Hayden (85 mins), who both played in the Hull team that knocked Swansea out of the League Cup…

    Kyle Bartley played for Swansea.
