Barring any last minute complications, Kostas Pileas will officially become an Arsenal player on July 1st after agreeing to sign for the club.
The 16-year-old, who can operate at centre-back or left-back, has been hugely impressive whilst on trial with the Gunners. He caught the eye in the AlKass International Cup in Qatar and recently scored in a friendly against MK Dons.
An intelligent reader of the game who is comfortable in possession, Pileas is initially set to sign scholarship terms with Arsenal, although reports suggest that he will automatically be offered professional terms when he turns 17 in December.
Pileas is due to join Arsenal’s scholarship intake for next season, which already contains seven internally-produced prospects- Marcus Tabi, Joe Willock, Charlie Gilmour, Tolaji Bola, Josh Da Silva, Nathan Tella and Edward Nketiah.
The club are also set to sign French youngsters Yassin Fortune and Jeff Reine-Adelaide, whilst there could be further acquisitions before the new season gets underway.
