Loan report- Afobe impresses; Ryo and Wellington feature

Carl Jenkinson played the whole 90 minutes but wasn’t at his best defensively as West Ham United drew 2-2 with Stoke City.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson was full of praise for Benik Afobe after the striker’s impressive performance as MK Dons beat Swindon Town 2-1. Afobe was a threat throughout and Robinson said: “Benik Afobe has had his best game in an MK Dons shirt- that’s the biggest applause he’s got off the fans and he’s not even scored.”

Ryo started and played 66 minutes as Twente beat Heerenveen 2-0.

Wellington was introduced as a 65th minute substitute but couldn’t prevent Almeria from losing 2-1 to his former loan side Levante. This week it was revealed the Brazilian winger has finally received a work permit enabling him to play competitively in England.

Kristoffer Olsson was introduced as a 74th minute substitute as Midtjylland beat Nordsjaelland 2-0 on Friday night. Earlier in the week Olsson was named man of the match after his performance against Aarhus Fremad in the Danish Cup.

Jon Toral started and came close to scoring before being withdrawn after 66 minutes of Brentford’s 2-1 victory over Derby County.

Jack Jebb was an un-used substitute as Stevenage drew 2-2 with Tranmere Rovers.

Austin Lipman‘s Boreham Wood weren’t in action this weekend.
