Four U21 players join first-team for Members’ Day training

Arsenal held their annual Members’ Day at Emirates Stadium this morning with the majority of the first-team squad in attendance.

The squad assembled on the pitch at 11.30 am, but Theo Walcott, Serge Gnabry, David Ospina, Ryo and Thomas Vermaelen, who are all currently injured, retreated down the tunnel thereafter.

There were several U21 players in attendance, with Damian Martinez, Hector Bellerin, Isaac Hayden and Chuba Akpom all playing a full part in the session. Ignasi Miquel was also present, but it appears that the Spaniard is injured as he also went back down the tunnel.

New signings Alexis Sanchez, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy were present.

World Cup winners Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker return to training on Monday.

Abou Diaby trained separately with the fitness coaches.

The following players were involved in training today: Szczesny, Debuchy, Gibbs, Koscielny, Monreal, Chambers, Rosicky, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla, Flamini, Coquelin, Zelalem, Giroud, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanchez, Sanogo, Campbell, Martinez, Bellerin, Hayden, Akpom.

  1. had a question jeorge ,what happened to gnabry,i know he is injured but wondering what injury has him out this long and when is he expected back

    1. Think we’re onto fourth or fifth month now which means it must be pretty damn serious. Quite possibly a cruciate. They’ve kept it extremely quiet.

      1. Same here – was strange that nothing on Gnabry. This really should be his time to break through with Walcott out….

  2. Personally think it’s a poor show from the German trio, I think they could hadve shown up, disappeared down the tunnel, with the injured then supported us at wembley.

    1. The Germans are on HOLIDAY! I guess you understand what it means. If you ever have had a job, I bet you haven’t been around workplace on your holiday. I’m pretty sure the Germans spend their holidays far away from London and there’s no sense to hang around the stadium. The fans have more than enough time to see them during the season. Hopefully all three of them will stay at Arsenal this season.
