Loan report- Aneke and Jeffrey score; Campbell claims another assist

Chuks Aneke set up one goal and scored another as Crewe Alexandra earned a point away to Coventry City. Aneke found Queens Park Rangers loanee Tom Hitchcock, who opened the scoring, before finding the net himself from close range to make it 2-2 after Coventry had taken the lead.

Joel Campbell claimed another assist, with the winger setting up Vladimir Weiss to score Olympiacos’ second, and, as it transpired, final goal in their victory over struggling Aris. Campbell was substituted in the 65th minute.

Damian Martinez kept a clean sheet and made a couple of impressive saves as Sheffield Wednesday earned a 1-0 victory over Hector Bellerin‘s Watford. Bellerin played the whole game and made a couple of dangerous crosses from the right flank.

Anthony Jeffrey scored, was a threat throughout and was named Boreham Wood’s man of the match after their 1-1 draw at home to Weston Super Mare. The winger scored with an effort from distance and completed the whole 90 minutes, whilst Austin Lipman also started before being substituted with 24 minutes remaining.

Wellington started and played 66 minutes as Real Murcia dispatched of Barcelona B with a 3-1 victory.

Johan Djourou played the entire game but was powerless to stop his Hamburg side from suffering a 3-1 defeat to Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich. Francis Coquelin, meanwhile, missed out through injury as Freiburg lost 2-0 to Schalke.

Josh Vickers had very few saves to make as Canvey Island easily beat Cray Wanderers 4-0 in the Ryman Premier League.

Ignasi Miquel was an un-used substitute as Leicester City drew 1-1 with Burnley, whilst Nico Yennaris is still waiting to make his Bournemouth debut after remaining on the bench for the entirety of their 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City.

  1. Hi Jeorge,

Thanks for the update. Two questions for you..

    1) Campbell’s loan has been a success. How do you rate him compared to AWs other attack kids namely Gnabry and AOC (I know that he is a striker but Gnabry and AOC will be the ones most at risk if AW decides to draft Campbell in the team)?

    2) How do you rate Aneke’s chances of making it at the Arsenal. Crewe fans seem to be raving about him..

  2. Campbell has done very well. I would say he is probably ahead of Gnabry at the moment but behind Chamberlain, although I think that he should be given some chances next season

Aneke has done well at Crewe, but he is 20 years old and is still playing in League One. I would like to see him make it at Arsenal, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he joined Crewe on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
