Thomas Eisfeld trained with the Arsenal first-team at London Colney this morning, but the German midfielder, who has fully recovered from his latest injury setback, will not be part of the squad to face his former team Borussia Dortmund tomorrow as he is not registered to play in the Champions League.
Jack Wilshere is also likely to miss the trip to Germany through injury after being unable to participate in training, but Kieran Gibbs was involved and could feature against Dortmund. Theo Walcott could return to face Manchester United on Sunday but won’t be involved tomorrow, whilst Abou Diaby, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Yaya Sanogo, Lukas Podolski and Mathieu Flamini are all still out.
There was some positive news, however, with winger Serge Gnabry in contention for inclusion after coming through training unscathed. Given the current lack of players available, Isaac Hayden is likely to remain in the squad, whilst Ryo Miyaichi is another option for inclusion. Arsenal face something of a striker shortage at present, with Ju-Young Park not registered to play in the Champions League and Chuba Akpom suspended for both the first-team and the U19’s fixtures’ against Dortmund tomorrow.
Players involved in training today: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Ozil, Ramsey, Rosicky, Cazorla, Giroud, Fabianski, Vermaelen, Jenkinson, Bendtner, Hayden, Ryo, Park, Gnabry, Eisfeld, Gibbs, Frimpong, Viviano.

The U19s also take on Dortmund tomorrow in the UEFA Youth League, with midfielder Dan Crowley in line to make his first competitive appearance since returning from injury. Gedion Zelalem could also feature, with both players likely to start on the bench as they work their way back to full fitness. Schoolboy striker Kaylen Hinds, meanwhile, has made the trip in the absence of Akpom.
